coffee + chocolate cake

I made this cake for a coffee loving co-worker. It was adapted from a recipe in Anna magazine (link is not to the recipe can't find it online). I should make cakes more often they are super easy and it really tasted like coffee.

Coffee Chocolate Cake
What you will need:
1 cup of freshly brewed coffee (I used a German chocolate cake variety from bulk barn)
1/4 cup canola oil
1/2 cup cocoa
1/2 cup white sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 egg
1 cup flour (I personally use half whole wheat/white)
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda

How to make:
In a large mixing bowl add cooled down coffee whisk in oil and cocoa. Whisk in sugars until combined and add in egg. Add salt and baking soda and than the flour until just combined.
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and oil your baking pan (I use olive oil and it works great!) I made mine is a standard 12 inch cake pan this recipe makes one layer or 12 cup cakes. Bake for 25 minutes or until a toothpick comes clean.
My cake looks a little weird since I made a coffee glaze when I make it again I will admit the glaze the cake tastes great without it. When you are baking a cake let it breathe! I touched and fused with this one too much. Just take it out of the oven let it cool and be on your way cakes are low key.
