food for your face

I have been trying some very all natural products lately and they are working out quite well! Here are my thoughts on them in case others like to raid the kitchen for beauty items.

rose water (go for pure with one ingredient): this item has been tempting me for ages at bulk barn at $1.99 I have no clue why I didn't buy it sooner; if only to smell it truly smells like roses! I have yet to try and drink it but I am sure I will be baking with it soon. Right now I am using this as my toner. Rose water is supposed to be great for dry skin and mine certainly has been lately. So far it is really doing a nice job of toning my skin.  I have found this is tightening my skin and I haven't noticed too much improvement in the dry skin category but my skin just may be so dry it will take some time for things to kick in.

sugar scrub: I have officially banned myself from buying store made scrubs; they never seem to be gritty enough or they hurt my face.

easiest scrub ever:
  • 1/2 tablespoon sugar (I use brown)
  • a squirt or two of your current cleanser
Use a tiny ramekin to mix this up and rub in circular motions on damp skin. The sugar gets softened by the water and cleanser; it turns into a gentle mush and does not seem to irritate my skin what so ever.

Feel free to share your current favorite natural beauty routine!
