thrift finds for January

January wasn't amazing on the thrifting front but I did find a few gems. Here are the few bits I found this month.
hand painted plate $0.75 the goodwill: I have been holding out for really nice and cheap tea plates and this one is just amazing, it has gotten a lot of use already.
gold spoons $3.99 for a set of 12 value village: I have always wanted gold cutlery and was super happy to come across some pretty good condition spoons (the forks and knives had seen better days so I left them) I am not going to lie another shopper gave me a crazy look for hoarding all the gold spoons and I replied "I am going to use them for pictures..." yeah like that is a good reason. Yes expect to see my gold spoons making appearances on the blog.
lipstick holder $1.99 value village: This is my third vintage lipstick holder and possibly my new favorite. I love that is has a mirrored tray in the centre and little feet to hold it up.

Anybody else have good thrifting luck in January?

  2. I really like the lipstick holder - very pretty. It's been too long since the last time I went thrifting but I am heading off to an annual rummage sale in the morning that was pretty good last year so we'll see what we can come up with there.

  3. The lipstick holder came as a set of 3 items...the lipstick holder, a small round trinket box and an oval tray with a mirrored bottom. I got them as a gift in the late '60's. HHmm, I wonder what happened to the other two items.
