SW basics cream vs. meow meow tweet cream

If you are in need of an all natural, vegan, cruelty free and rich cream for the upcoming colder months this review is for you!
I was gifted the SW Basics cream last year for my birthday from a friend and have since burned through three of these mini jars. I do love this product but hate the s/h handling fees to/within Canada which can be anywhere from $8-$12.
I searched a bit and found a similar but not quite the same cream with a nicer s/h fee for me to try so here are my thoughts on them.

SW Basics Cream: (hand poured in Brooklyn) $12 for 1 oz or $32 for 3.75 oz
Made from three ingredients, coconut oil, shea butter and olive oil, almost no scent.

This cream is soft white and ooh so soft to the touch, pretty much like butter. It spreads lovely and does leave an oily finish to the skin until it is fully absorbed. I would not use this as an actual full body lotion but for spot treating elbows and knuckles.  I personally use it on some scars I have from a surgery it really keeps dry scar tissue soft.
Overall I really liked how unique and easy this product was to work with, hence the many repurchases. Lotions don't compare.

Meow Meow Tweet cream: (also handmade is Brooklyn) $22 for 2 oz
Made from four ingredients hempseed oil, virgin coconut oil, cocoa butter and shea butter.
I linked well.ca since that is where I bought it from they offer free shipping within Canada with all orders of $25 it is pretty much my favorite online shopping site for natural beauty products.

The meow meow tweet cream is almost the same as the SW basics cream with only a few slight changes. The meow meow tweet version boasts the added bonus of a natural cocoa scent, which yes it does have but it quickly fades no need for that to be a selling point.
This cream is slightly harder in the jar and scoops out with your spatula a little more chunky but once it hits the warmth of your skin it melts and is easily spreadable. If you are an avid natural butter user this is more shea butter based. It also leaves an oily sheen to the skin until fully absorbed, again I wouldn't use this all over. It leaves your skin very soft and well moisturized.

Overall I love the idea behind both creams. After trying them both out I like the SW basics version possibly a bit more, simply based on how easily it comes out of the jar. The meow meow tweet cream once on the skin is almost the same is terms of softness and moisture. So the choice will be yours if you want to try one out, both are great.

If you want to order something from well.ca they have a great refferal program I have created a coupon code
vixageblog
to give you $10 off your order of $40 or more. Not sponsored by them I just love their site:)
Offer expires Oct 21, 2014.

  1. Excellent - I'm always on the look out for a better vegan moisturizer...I was wondering though is it a once in a while kind of cream of the kind that you can use everyday?.....I still haven't found a good everyday cream

    1. Hey Martina!
It depends on what you want it for. If you have dry elbows/feet than you can use it everyday. If you are looking for something to use on your whole arms/legs then this cream is not good for that it is too oily. More of a concentrated treatment.
