beauty hits, mehs and misses part 3

Since my last post in May I haven't really added much to my make-up stash. Here is my two cents on them anyways!

hits (not pictured, link to my full review)
The only items I have been using up and loving are from sweet spirit apothecary made right here is Winnipeg. Once my sample of the clay mask is low I will 100% be placing another order.

mehs
natures bounty hair, skin and nails vitamins: After the snow melted I noticed I still had really dry nails and was getting a lot of hang nails. I have wanted to try this vitamin blend for a long time and now seemed the time. Sadly I am almost 2 months into my bottle and have not noticed any difference to my hair, skin or nails. The only upside is they taste really good and have been a good treat after lunch.

maybelline age rewind concealer (light shade): This has cult status on youtube so I figured it was time to give it a try. I personally don't like the sponge tip I think it absorbs way to much product. I have seen others rip it off  so I may try that kind of crazy soon... As for the concealer it is very unique in that it is thin and powdery. It does blend easy and I have found it works well on blemishes too without drying them out. I just don't think it covers/brightens nearly as much as I had hoped for.

sunday riley luna sleeping oil (I was using a deluxe sample): I picked this up with a sephora order and couldn't be happier to get a chance to try out this oil. It is highly touted on youtube as well and costs a whooping $130 a bottle! It is a retinol + essential oil blend that is supposed to help with fine lines, pores and oiliness. I wanted it for the pores and oiliness and well I have not noticed much from it. Others have claimed overnight magic while I still have congested pores and have not noticed any changes in my skin. I will use up my sample (which has easy 3 months worth of product) but have crossed this off my lust list I do not think it is worth the price tag.

misses
milani tea rose blush: I am a sucker for packaging and this blush is really too cute. This blush is matte which is why I picked it up however it is very dry and hard to blend. This shade is also way too pigmented for my heavy hands I cannot find I way to apply it properly so sadly it has to be put out of my reach.

sunday riley luna sleeping oil (deluxe sample, no link apparently it is not available in Canada via sephora anymore!): I picked this up with a sephora order and couldn't be happier to get a chance to try out this oil. It is highly touted on youtube as well and costs a whooping $130 a bottle! It is a retinol + essential oil blend that is supposed to help with fine lines, pores and oiliness. I wanted it for the pores and oiliness and well I have not noticed one favorable things from using it so far. Others have claimed overnight magic while I still have congested pores and have not noticed any changes in my skin. I will use up my sample (which has easy 3 months worth of product) but have crossed this off my lust list I do not think it is worth the price tag.

Anybody else have a new items that they have been loving or hating?

  1. i've always told myself to pick up one of those maybelline age rewind concealer but always forget to (been curious about it because of the hype around it on youtube).

    1. I ripped off the sponge and it does seem better but it has to stand upright or else the product just oozes out, really it is not practical but it is growing on me.

  2. Too cute, I use my gummy vitamins as a sort of mini dessert, too. :)

Have a stellar weekend, sweet dear!
