shifting to neutral....makeup

Lately I have been drawn to items/colours I never thought  would like...the nude pink/rose. I used to like my bright make-up, that included bold lips, bright cheeks and nails. It slowly started with my nails last year I picked up essie's eternal optimist and really liked how it just went with everything. Next came a skin coloured eye shadow in annabelle gleam. This fall for my birthday I bought myself my first non hot pink lippy in bite beauty's fig and now this month I added tarte's tartlette blush in celebrated.

annabelle gleam: This on my skin tone does not show up at all but gives a very soft glow to the eyes, it keeps my lids from getting too oily and helps my gel liner stick a bit better. It is foolproof and my most used makeup item.

tarte tartlette blush in celebrated: I was on the fence about this one for ages. I was looking for something neutral and not obvious since I really do not know how to apply blush. This shade has a 5 star rating and is also foolproof but I do not know if it was worth the price. It looks way better in person than the testers at sephora I will mention that!

essie eternal optimist: I am on my second bottle of this, such a lovely colour a nude pink is pretty much exactly how to describe it.

bite beauty's fig: (it does photograph a lot pinker than it really is) I had bought a sample size at a few Christmases back and was surprised at how much I used it, so I treated myself to the full size tube mere months ago and I am already burning through it. Bite beauty as a brand for lipsticks is amazing pretty much my whole collection is now comprised of their lipsticks I am hoping to add a few more lighter colours as I may be changing my ways with bright lips!

Has anybody else been loving lighter more neutral make-up?

  3. Ooohh, I want that shade of polish. Essie is my favourite nail polish brand (it seems to last - relatively speaking! - longer on me than most other brands, plus they have such a stellar rainbow of colours) and I'll definitely be keeping my eyes open for this shade here (thanks for the intro!).

Big hugs & happy weekend wishes,
