last week in pictures

My week started out with a delivery from Therma Winnipeg. They contacted me to see if I was interested in a "summer care package" I had no idea that that meant I just knew my sister had been and enjoyed herself so I said yes. It turned out to be a beach bag, magazine and one of Thermea's fruit infusion water bottles, all items that are recommended you bring to experience Thermea. Thermea is a place I would not mind checking out myself I just need to align schedules with a friend!

No thrift finds came home with me this week. The value village I went to was a bit pricey. They wanted $12 for the two beat up primary fridgies and $14.99 for the gold beaded purse. Neither was worth that imo.

My weekly sephora promotion email got me. It has been almost two months since I fell for gift with purchases. I am on the hunt for a new concealer and the new kat von d offering had me intrigued. I used them this weekend so here are my first impressions.

kat von d lock it concealer creme: I didn't have much choice of a shade so I received L3 warm. That being said it is fair enough for my skin and I don't think it being warm toned on my cool skin makes much of a difference. This is a very unique concealer it is not one that you will swipe the wand under your eyes, just one dot gives you enough products to spread under your eyes EASY. It is the most spreadable concealer I have ever used. It blended out so easy with a make-up sponge and did not crease or cake on me. I have not tried it on any blemishes just yet. Overall I am very impressed and will be happy to use up my sample and I can already see myself purchasing this in the full size.
For reference I have tried the nars creamy concealer, the urban decay naked skin and returned them both since they did not live up to the hype for me.

sephora collection bronzer powder in anguilla: After watching many you-tube videos and this post by cupcakes and cashmere I have been on the hunt for a matte bronzer to give me cheek bones. I bought a cheap drugstore version that was orange which I had to throw out since more than one person commented on my orange cheeks... the shade pictured in anguilla it is a nice golden brown without being orange. I exchanged it for Los Cabos the next shade up as it did turn ornage on me but it smells like cocoa and blends very easily.

bite beauty perfect pair in rhubarb and chablis (not online yet) I pretty much only own and use sample/travel size lip products. I like to have variety without spending much money. I was pleased to find this at the check out in two shades I have been wanting to try. The "nude" set includes chablis (a coral pink) and rhubarb (a neutral berry). Chablis is a really happy colour bright but not obnoxious, it is my favorite out of the two. Rhubarb is a really pretty colour and in a shade I am not used to seeing on myself. Both lasted for hours (as long as you don't eat) and did not feather whoop whoop!

How was last week for others?

  1. That's mighty step for fridgies in that condition, wow. The fact that they had their lids though, makes it a touch more reasonable than if they were asking that for ones sans tops, which is how I see them about 99% of the (rare) times that I do come across them while thrifting.

Hopefully August will deliver some better thrift store luck your way (especially if folks are dropping off stuff that they don't sell at their yard sales).

    xoxo ♥ Jessica
